FAQs
Answers to some of the questions that come up when planning a bathroom renovation.
Planning your renovation
Every bathroom and every home is different, but these are some of the things clients often want to know before getting started.
Do I need to have my bathroom design figured out before contacting you?
No. You can come to us with a clear idea, a few inspiration photos or simply a list of things you would like to improve. We can help you develop the layout, fixtures, finishes and details around your space and the way you use it.
Can you help me choose fixtures, tiles and finishes?
Yes. Part of our approach is helping you make the decisions that bring the bathroom together. We can discuss suitable products, finishes, lighting and practical details so the choices work together rather than being made in isolation.
Will you change my ideas or design the bathroom your way?
Our job is to develop your ideas, not replace them. We will make suggestions where we think something could work better, explain the practical implications and help you refine the design, but the finished bathroom should still feel like yours.
What does a typical bathroom renovation include?
The exact scope depends on the project, but a full renovation can involve strip-out, plumbing, electrical work, preparation and boarding, waterproofing, tiling, sanitaryware installation, lighting, decorating, silicone and final finishing. We agree the scope with you before the project starts.
Do I need to organise separate trades myself?
For the work included in our agreed renovation scope, we manage the different stages and coordinate the trades involved. That means you are not left trying to organise the sequence of plumbers, electricians, tilers and other work yourself.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
It depends on the size of the room, the amount of preparation required and the complexity of the design. Once we understand the project properly, we can give you a more realistic idea of the programme rather than promising the same timeframe for every bathroom.
Can I stay in the house while the work is being done?
In many cases, yes. Bathroom renovation is disruptive, particularly during strip-out and the early stages, but we plan the work carefully and will talk you through what to expect. If it is the only bathroom in the property, tell us at the enquiry stage so we can discuss the practicalities.
How do I get a quotation?
Start by completing our renovation enquiry and telling us about the bathroom, what you would like to change and your approximate plans. You can also upload photos and inspiration. We review the information first and, where appropriate, arrange the next step so we can understand the project properly before preparing a proposal.
Do you take on small bathroom jobs or repairs?
IO Bathrooms is focused primarily on bathroom renovation projects. If you are unsure whether what you need fits our service, send us the details through the enquiry form and we can assess it from there.
Where do you work?
We work on bathroom renovation projects in Dublin and surrounding areas. Send us the property location with your enquiry and we can confirm whether we cover your area.
Still have a question?
Tell us a little about your bathroom and what you have in mind. We can take it from there.
